Harry Clifford Smith and
Jaime-Lee Johns
Woodhall Manor
28th August 2025
When Harry Clifford Smith and Jaime-Lee Johns matched on Tinder in 2022, neither of them expected the connection to turn into a lifelong love story. In fact, both were initially unsure about starting a relationship at all.
“We both agreed to just see where things went,” explains Jaime. “Neither of us felt particularly ready for anything serious at that point.”
Yet fate had been quietly intertwining their lives long before they ever swiped right. As they would later discover, their families had known each other for years.
Their brothers had gone to nursery together, and as children they had often been in the same places - even playing together at a mutual family friend’s house on weekends. Which makes their story feel all the more like destiny.
Their connection deepened slowly. What began as a relaxed friendship developed naturally over time, particularly after a holiday to Kos.
“We’d been dating for quite a while when we went away,” says Jaime. “But that trip made us realise there was something more than just friendship there. When we came home, we decided it was time to make things official.”
She’s The One
For Jaime, the moment she truly fell for Harry happened during an unexpectedly tender gesture.
“I had the flu one Friday evening and Harry turned up at my house with chocolate, Sudafed and everything I needed to feel better,” she laughs. “When I thanked him, he said he had ‘nothing better to do that night!’”
Knowing Harry well, Jaime realised immediately that wasn’t quite what he meant.
“We both just burst out laughing. He suddenly realised he meant to say there was nowhere else he’d rather be.”
Harry’s talent for accidental misphrasing has since become an ongoing joke between them.
“He’s always digging himself into a hole with the things he says,” Jaime smiles. “So after that night I bought him a shovel keyring as a reminder.”
But humour wasn’t the only reason she knew he was the one.
“Whenever we were together, I felt completely myself. Nothing was embarrassing. We’d go on these crazy adventures - usually getting lost because of my terrible navigation - but Harry’s laid-back nature meant we’d just laugh and enjoy the moment. That’s when I realised he was home for me.”
For Harry, the certainty grew gradually with every date.
“I just knew in my heart,” he says simply.
The Proposal
Harry planned a truly unforgettable proposal during a birthday trip to Mauritius for Jaime’s 30th in December.
He secretly booked a private sunset cruise on a superior catamaran, a meaningful choice for the couple, who had spent many of their early dates watching sunsets together at their favourite local spots.
“The crew kept topping up our drinks and brought out a birthday cake,” Jaime remembers. “Then just as the sun was setting, they offered to take some photos.”
That was Harry’s cue.
“He suddenly got down on one knee,” she says. “I was completely speechless!”
The proposal almost didn’t go quite to plan, however.
“While shopping with Harry months earlier, I’d pointed out a really unusual ring and told him that day I’d love something like that,” she explains.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t anything like the ring Harry had already purchased for her.
“I panicked,” Harry adds. “I had to play it cool for the rest of the shopping trip whilst spiralling internally and texting Jaime’s mum that I had picked a ring completely different to the one she liked. The next day after work I rushed back to the shop to change it.
“The sales assistant assumed the worst and thought I was returning it because Jaime had said no! I had to explain it was just the wrong ring.”
Luckily, the correct design arrived just one day before their holiday!
Wedding Planning
When it came to choosing a venue, the couple wanted something different from the many local weddings they had attended.
“We wanted somewhere a bit further away, and we visited Woodhall Manor we instantly fell in love with the grounds,” says Jaime.
The Suffolk venue offered the perfect blend of elegance and celebration.
“The manor house has that beautiful old-fashioned charm, but the evening space has a really modern party feel,” she explains.
Most importantly, the setting spoke for itself.
Finding the Dress
Jaime’s bridal shopping experience was far from the typical ‘love at first sight’ moment.
“I actually hated dress shopping,” she laughs. “I didn’t love any of the dresses.”
Her gown from Bellissima was the first one she felt remotely comfortable in. but she still left the boutique without buying it.
However, during the following two weeks something unexpected happened.
“I couldn’t stop thinking about that dress.”
At her next appointment elsewhere, she realised every gown was being compared to the original.
“That’s when I knew it must be the one. I went straight back and bought it.”

The Wedding Day
Jaime was supported by bridesmaids Zialou Belton, Ellie Taylor, Sophie Johns and Lily-Mai McCarthy, while Harry’s groomsmen were Matt Swain, Tom Sibun and Michael Marney.
Jaime was given away by both her father Darren Johns and stepfather David Wilson, alongside her mother Theresa Wilson. Harry’s father Paul Smith proudly watched his son marry, while the day also honoured the memory of Harry’s late mother Karen Smith.
The ceremony music included I Get to Love You by Ruelle as Jaime walked down the aisle.
“For me, the highlight was seeing Harry waiting at the end,” she says. “As soon as he turned around, I felt completely calm. All the nerves disappeared.”
“I was so nervous waiting at the front,” Harry adds. “But when I turned and saw Jaime, my heart just felt so full. She looked absolutely beautiful.”
The couple were also convinced someone special had helped deliver the perfect weather.
“It had rained heavily the day before and it poured again the day after,” Harry says. “But on our wedding day the sun was shining. Mum definitely worked her magic.”
Guests enjoyed drinks in the sunshine while saxophonist Miss Leeloo performed.
“Looking around and seeing everyone laughing in the sunshine with the music playing felt incredible,” Harry recalls.
Another highlight was the champagne spray celebration.
“It was chaotic and hilarious,” Jaime laughs.
The day was filled with emotional moments too, including a touching gesture in memory of Harry’s mum.
“We had a beautiful acrylic photo of her placed on the front row,” Jaime explains. “I also arranged a pin badge with her picture for Harry to wear so she could be with him.”
One lighter moment came courtesy of the registrar.
“Not many people knew Harry’s middle name,” Jaime laughs. “So, during the ceremony he kept emphasising ‘Clifford’ every time he said his full name. His friends were in hysterics!”
The evening celebrations continued with Vox Secret singing waiters, who performed a lively rendition of Proud Mary by Tina Turner - a favourite of Harry’s mum.
Honeymoon adventures
After the celebrations, the newlyweds headed to Zanzibar for their honeymoon, combining beach relaxation with a once-in-a-lifetime safari in Tanzania.
“We were lucky enough to see some of the Big Five,” says Harry. “Another unforgettable highlight was swimming with wild dolphins.”
“It was incredible,” Jaime says. “The perfect way to start married life.”
Jaime’s advice for future brides
“Relax and don’t worry about everyone else’s opinions. People will always have ideas about what you should do - where to get married, what the day should look like - but it’s your wedding. Make sure every decision is what you want.”
Capturing the Day
Choosing their photographers was an easy decision for Jaime and Harry.
“The Bearded Photographers were such a laugh,” says Jaime. “We wanted someone who would feel like part of the day rather than just someone taking photos.” Their relaxed energy immediately stood out. They brought such positivity and fun, and of course their photos speak for themselves.”
